The “Welcoming Night” of the 21st Orientation Days was completed with a number of entertaining events and Mustafa Sandal concert. The main sponsor of the event was Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Halit Tanju Besler, Vice Rector for Financial Affairs Prof. Dr. Sevin Uğural, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu Oğurlu, Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Prof. Dr. Naciye Doratlı, senate members, academicians, students and society of Famagusta were amongst the attendees of the glorious night.
The “Welcoming Night” that was organized for celebrating the newly registered students begun at 19:00 at the EMU Stadium. After EMU Cyprus Folk Dance Community show and EMU Music Club – Abandoned Town concert, the students enjoyed Mustafa Sandal concert, one of the Turkey’s popular singers. Mustafa Sandal was on stage for approximately 1.5 hours.
EMU Rector Presented a Plaque to Mustafa Sandal
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam presented a plaque to Mustafa Sandal on the stage for entertaining EMU students and the people of Famagusta. Prof. Dr. Osam called out to the newly registered students and said, “Firstly, I would like to thank Mustafa Sandal for this magnificent concert. Our new coming students; welcome to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and EMU. Thank you for preferring us. Make sure that you study a lot in these four years ahead of you, and attend all social activities that are prepared for you, alongside with your classes. I wish you have a great year of study.” Mustafa Sandal also thanked EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and said, “If you accept me, I am a voluntary EMU student as well. I wish all the students a very successful academic year.” Mustafa Sandal then sang his favorite songs for the enthusiastic crowd titled “Reset”, “Aya Benzer Yüreğim”, “Demo”, “Onun Arabası Var”, “İsyankar”.
Moreover, Faculties, Schools and Student Clubs promotions, various sports contests, stage shows and recreation events took place at the “Welcoming Night”. Rector Prof. Dr. Osam and Vice Rectors visited booths and the event zone. New students and their families had the opportunity to try traditional Cypriot food in addition to meeting and socializing with other students, under the sponsorship of Koop Süt Ltd., Oza Kahve, Pınar and Coca Cola.
