Eastern Mediterranean University’s (EMU) 2021 – 2022 Academic Year Fall Semester Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 8 February 2022, and Associate and Undergraduate Graduation Ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, 9 February 2022. Consistently increasing the number of graduates with each passing year, EMU's total number of graduates will almost reach 68 thousand in the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester.
Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony on 8 February
Graduation ceremony for students graduating from the postgraduate programs during the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester will be held on Tuesday, 8 February 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. The rehearsal for the Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony will be held on Monday, 7 February 2022, at 10:00 a.m., again at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. More than 300 graduates of master’s and doctorate programs will receive their diplomas at the ceremony. The ceremony, which will start with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, will continue with a Music Concert. Then, on behalf of the master's and doctoral graduates, Turkish and English speeches, followed by Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın's speech and President of the Board of Trustees Dr. Erdal Özcenk's speech will be delivered. After the ceremony, diplomas will be presented to doctoral graduates, and honorary plaques will be presented to thesis supervisors the aforesaid graduates. The ceremony will end after the diploma presentation to graduates.
Graduation Ceremony for Associate and Undergraduate Programs on 9 February
Graduation Ceremonies, during which Associate and Undergraduate Program graduates will receive their diplomas, will be held on Wednesday, 9 February, 2022. Due to the pandemic conditions, approximately 1000 graduates will be presented their diplomas at a ceremony to be held at a specific time and place arranged for each faculty.
In this context, on Wednesday, 9 February, 2022, at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Palace, graduates of Faculty of Architecture will receive their diplomas between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; graduates of School of Tourism and Hotel Management and School of Computing and Technology will be presented their diplomas between 14:00 and 16:00. Between 18:00 and 20:00, graduates of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Health Services will receive their diplomas.
During the ceremonies to be held at Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Center, graduates of Faculty of Business and Economics and School of Business and Finance will receive their diplomas between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; graduates of the Faculty of Engineering will be presented diplomas between 14:00 and 16:00. Diplomas will be presented to the students of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Education between 18:00 – 20:00.
During the ceremonies to be held at Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall, graduates of Faculty of Communication will be presented diplomas between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.. Graduates of Faculty of Law and the School of Justice will be presented diplomas between 14:00 and 16:00. Finally, graduates of Faculty of Pharmacy will be awarded diplomas between 18:00 and 20:00.
At the ceremonies that will start with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, speeches on behalf of graduate students, speeches by faculty deans and school directors, and Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and President of the Board of Trustees Dr. Erdal Özcenk will be delivered via cinevision. Then, diplomas and awards will be presented to the highest ranking graduates of the faculties and departments. The ceremonies will end with the distribution of diplomas to the graduates of associate and undergraduate programs.
Ceremonies to Take Place in Scope of the Pandemic Rules
The 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester Graduation Ceremonies will be held within the framework of pandemic rules. In this context, all students and their parents who will attend the ceremony or rehearsal will be asked to present a negative PCR/antigen test result obtained within the last 72 hours if they are fully vaccinated (including booster doses); if they are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, they will be asked to submit a negative PCR / Antigen test result obtained within the last 48 hours. Due to the pandemic conditions, a maximum of 2 guests of each graduate can be allowed to the ceremony area. Maximum attention will be paid to social distancing and mask rules at the ceremony.
