The “Tarihin Tanıklığında Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti” (In the Presence of History: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) book edited by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education academic staff member and Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Center for Women’s Studies (CWS) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Üçışık Erbilen was introduced to the public. The book introduction event organized by the Association of Turkish Women Academics (TÜRKKAB) and Umay Ana Turkish World Women’s Association (Umay ana TDKB) at Istanbul Topkapı University was attended by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar and first lady Sibel Tatar.
The book dedicated to the 50th year anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation consists of chapters about the Turkish struggle for existence, social solidarity, and social life from the time the Turks first settled on the island throughout history. The book is edited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erbilen and Prof. Dr. Mualla Uydu Yücel, a faculty member in the General Turkish History Department at the Faculty of Literature, Istanbul University and the Chairperson of the Association of Turkish Women Academics (TÜRKKAB).
