Making statements about the event, EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç said, “Today is a very special day. We have exhibited a very good example of the collaboration between the university and non-governmental organizations. As part of the 21 March World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, many institutions and organizations are working together to raise awareness on this issue. I would like to thank Famagusta Ravelin Lions Club Association for fulfilling this task. We did our best to contribute to this meaningful day. We made pizza with our young friends who joined the event within our faculty. We shared their excitement. But in fact, the aim was to spread the meaning and importance of today both to the world and to our country, and to emphasize how important they are to us. I would like to thank Famagusta Ravelin Lions Club Association, İrfan Nadir Education Center and EMU Education Faculty, Special Education Department for making this event happen. I hope this awareness spreads like a wave.”
President of the Famagusta Ravelin Lions Club Association Çiğdem Duvarcı said, “As part of the 21 March World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, our Famagusta Ravelin Lions Club Association organized a beautiful event in collaboration with EMU Tourism Faculty. Today, we made pizza together with more than 10 young individuals who joined us from the İrfan Nadir Rehabilitation Center.
