A collaboration protocol was signed between Eastern Mediterranean University Center for Cyprus Studies (DAÜ-KAM) and European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA). Signing ceremony for the protocol took place on Tuesday, 16th of July, 2019 at 10:30 at EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam’s chamber. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and, EMAA Director and also the Vice Rector of Cyprus American University Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci signed the protocol. The ceremony was attended by EMU Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs and DAÜ-KAM Director Prof. Dr. Naciye Doratlı, DAÜ-KAM Visual Arts Project Coordinator Zehra Şonya, authorities from EMAA and press members.
Touching on the fact that EMU has always been cherishing art and artists, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam also stated that the recently signed protocol is to extend the scope of the already existing collaboration between EMAA and DAÜ-KAM. EMAA Director Prof. Dr. Keçeci mentioned that the protocol involves amendments on partnerships that exist within the framework of 15 April World Art Day celebrations. Keçeci also shared the pleasure of continuing the collaborations between the institutions.
The Scope of the Protocol
Theme and content of the events (exhibition, book, etc.) will be specified with respect to the co-decisions of DAÜ-KAM and EMAA. During the event selection process, the event’s sufficiency to meet the needs of the art environment, its content being related to the non-existing matters rather than the existing ones and, event being innovative will be the criteria to be taken into consideration. Holding the exhibitions with a catalogue or a book or, increasing the number of art publications is aimed within the scope of the protocol. The events are to be organized at least in two cities; Famagusta and Nicosia. Moreover, the promotion, publication or presentation processes of the events will be in cooperation of the institutions.
