Within the scope of the 10th International Career Days events which are organized annually by the EMU Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Education brought expert professionals of the field together with the students with the intention of contributing the students’ career journeys. Faculty’s first guest was Sedat Kılıç who is an educator, sports writer, coach and volleyball referee. Kılıç gave a seminar to faculty students on the place and positive impact of sports in life. Orhan Süslü, Director of Cyprus Doğa Schools, was another guest who visited the faculty as part of the career days activities. Süslü met with EMU students in her seminar titled “Man is the Creator of His Own”.
Students met with Experts
10th Career Days events continued with a seminar delivered by educator Sinem Tumburi Tulga. During the seminar, Tulga provided information to the students of EMU Education Faculty on gender in literary criticism. Another the guest speaker of the events was Assistant Human Resources Specialist Burçak Özgen from Turkish Bank LTD. Özgen talked about the place of Psychological Counseling and Guidance program graduates in the human resources sector during the seminar where she met with EMU students. The seminars continued with another Expert Psychological Counselor, Gizem Dağda, Senior Human Resources Specialist at University of Kyrenia. Dağda gave information about the place of Psychological Counseling and Guidance specialists in the field of human resources and their need for empathy.
“Career Days Events are Very Important”
10th International Career Days events continued with seminars organized for Special Education Department students at the EMU Education Faculty. Academic experts Yunus Polatoğlu and Esra Polatoğlu attended these seminars as guests. The guests met with faculty students in the seminar that shed light on business and professional life in the field of special education. Events ended with Biologist and Environmental Education Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kaşot's seminar titled "Environmental Education in Early Childhood Education". EMU Education Faculty students pointed out the importance of career days for students, stating that such events are informative about planning their future and how they can cope with the difficulties they may encounter in their careers.
