Students of Eastern Mediterranean University, Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department will be representing Eastern Mediterranean University at the 30th European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools’ gastronomy competitions taking place at Ostend, Belgium between 13 and 18 November 2017.
Stating that the faculty was also represented at last year’s 29th AEHT Conference participated by 44 countries, EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç put forth that both EMU and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be exclusively represented at the 30th AEHT Conference, taking place this year. Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that students of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Mustafa Kocabaşoğu and Güzden Ballı will be representing the faculty in the culinary arts and confectionery categories under the supervision of Tourism Faculty Academic Staff member, Chef Kurtuluş Özbaşar.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç: Participation is Considered to Be Very Important in Terms of Students’ Development as well as Promotion
Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that through the said activity, their faculty will establish communication networks with numerous schools providing study opportunities in Europe in the field of tourism and hospitality. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also added that the event carries special importance in contributing to students’ self development as well as the promotion of both the university and the country.
