EMU Represented at the 3rd International and 6th National Health Services Congress

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Dentistry’s Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Şükrü Tüzmen represented EMU at the Süleyman Demirel Faculty of Medicine 3rd International / 6th National Health Services Congress organized by Süleyman Demirel University on 19-21 December 2024.

 

The congress addressed key topics including genetic and genomic research using advanced molecular techniques, studies on genetic disorders, and the evaluation of scientific data. Furthermore, discussions on innovations and scientific progress were held, along with poster presentations and collaborative projects with companies from the Süleyman Demirel University Teknopark.

In his speech at the congress, Prof. Dr. Tüzmen stated that they have begun to collect the results of the studies carried out for the future generations. Underscoring that research and studies conducted by Molecular Biology and Genetics Labs bear significant financial budgets, Prof. Dr. Tüzmen stated that they have gravitated towards “in silico” (computer based) and artificial intelligence (AI) based studies. Underscoring that EMU provides students with international education and research opportunities through its scientific discipline and systematic thinking framework, Prof. Dr. Tüzmen noted that since 2012, the university has hosted various social and scientific events, enabling students to take part in master’s and doctoral programs abroad. Prof. Dr. Tüzmen also expressed his commitment to continuing his scientific and academic endeavours on behalf of EMU.

 

At the end of the congress, Süleyman Demirel University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Saltan presented Prof. Dr. Tüzmen a certificate and a souvenir.

Meetings Held within the scope of Project Collaboration

On behalf of EMU, Prof. Dr. Tüzmen carried out preliminary meetings with the Süleyman Demirel University and Tahran University with the aim of evaluating academic collaboration opportunities. In the said meetings, views of carrying out joint projects were exchanged.
