The jury evaluation of the Ex-libris Competition organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Communication Faculty, Department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design and Poland’s Silesia University took place on the 1st of November 2019. 600 pieces of ex-libris work from approximately 200 artists from 35 different countries were evaluated by an international jury.
After the evaluation, the “Spirit” themed special first place prize was awarded to Anna Trojanowska (Poland). The other first place prize was awarded to Xingting Li (China), the second place prize to Ozan Uyanık (Turkey) and the third place prize to Xin Yi Hong (China).
Honourable mentions were given to Alperen Güldü (Turkey), Christine Deboosere (Belgium), Alexsandra Hachula (Poland), Murat Ertürk (Turkey), Olexandra Kalinska (Ukrain), Jiang Lu (China), Shaghayegh Ghasemzadeh (Iran) and Tezcan Bahar (Turkey).
The jury that carried out their evaluation on the 1st of November 2019 at the Eastern Mediterranean University Department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Exhibition Platform included EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, famous Belgian artist and EMU Rector’s Office Art Consultant Prof. R. Baeyens, Üsküdar University Communication Faculty, Department of Cartoon and Animation Chair Prof. Hasip Pektaş, Silesia University Fine Arts Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Marek Bak and EMU Department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Chair Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu.
A total of 220 pieces of art were chosen to be exhibited in a printed catalogue at Poland’s Silesia University in January 2020. The work will then be exhibited at the Eastern Mediterranean University.
