Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rouba El Dalati, Chair of the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Lebanon, paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. During her visit which took place on 3 September 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalati was accompanied by EMU Civil Engineering Department Chair Prof. Dr. Özgür Eren and EMU Civil Engineering Department PhD student from Lebanon, Hussein Ghandour. Academic collaborations and projects were among topics covered during the meeting.
Stating that Eastern Mediterranean University is the biggest institution of higher education, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam provided information about EMU’s student and faculty profile, infrastructural qualities, campus structure, faculties and departments and accreditations. Extending his pleasure in working with the University of Lebanon, Prof. Dr. Osam expressed his hope of having active and productive collaborations with the said university.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalati expressed her pride in working with EMU and added that they would be more than happy to sign a collaboration protocol with EMU’s Civil Engineering Department, including important topics such as the opening of postgraduate courses, student and academic staff exchange, organisation of joint conferences and competitions between the two said institutions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalabati also expressed their wish to benefit from EMU’s expertise and experience regarding the postgraduate programs. At the end of the visit, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam presented a gift made of traditional Lefkara Lace to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalati.
