Eastern Mediterranean University School of Computing and Technology (SCT), Accounting and Taxation Applications and Medical Documentation and Office Management programs successfully passed the accreditation process of German-based organisation FIBAA (The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) and were awarded their accreditation for a period of 5 years.
Following the accreditation of EMU SCT’s The Computer Technologies and Information Systems program by German-based organisation ASIIN as well as EuroINF quality label, the School of Computing and Technology applied for FIBAA accreditation last year.
FIBAA is an accrediting agency carrying out accreditation work in business departments operating under the universities within the European Union. Despite the fact that EMU-SCT’s 2-year programs deliver instruction in Turkish, they still successfully went through FIBAA’s accreditation process and were awarded the quality label.
Director of EMU School of Computing and Technology Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa İlkan stated that the process of accreditation is carried out to ensure that education provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkan also put forth that during the visit of FIBAA’s inspection board to the institution on 28 August 2013, school administration, library, curriculum, student learning objectives and methods and techiques of course delivery as well as laboratory and educational facilities were all evaluated and, consequently, received the accreditation on 14 April 2014.
