Within the framework of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Association of Businesswomen’s joint project entitled “Integrating Female Workforce into Economy”, a protocol between Eastern Mediterranean University and the Association of Businesswomen was signed on 4 June 2015. The protocol covers the support of Eastern Mediterranean University regarding the educational aspect of the project.
As part of the protocol which was signed by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen and Chair of the Association of Businesswomen Semral Erel, the required training will be provided by EMU Center for Women’s Studies and EMU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The project aims to raise public awareness regarding female productivity and increase female entrepreneurship.
Stating that the project has a special value as it received the joint support of the state institutions and private sector, Semral Erel stated that over 200 participants from 6 different regions will benefit from the training. Erel expressed her pleasure in collaborating with TRNC’s most prominent insititution of higher education, in this respect. Vice rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen expressed the university’s pride in taking part in a project as such.
While the training to be provided by EMU Center for Women’s Studies will focus on female productivity and good use of female labor, EMU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will provide information on establishing a business in the TRNC as well as credit and financial support possibilities and the preparation of a work plan.
