Hosted by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Social and Cultural Activities Directorate in collaboration with the Antique Famagusta Foundation the conference titled “Bosnia’s Ancient Pyramids and the Pyramid in Mevlevi Village” took place at the Activity Centre Conference Hall on Monday, the 13th of November 2017.
During the conference that commenced at 5:30 p.m., Prof. Dr. Semir Osmanagic who discovered the first pyramid in Europe made the claim that there is a pyramid in the Mevlevi Village in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Stating that according to history books, pyramids are only found in Egypt and Mexico, Prof. Dr. Osmanagic noted that this thesis has been refuted as a result of new findings. “There are pyramids all over the world. In Egypt there are 155 pyramids. However the world’s two largest pyramids are in the heart of Bosnia-Herzegovina. After we discovered the Bosnian pyramids we completely changed the history books.”
“Excavation should take place for the pyramids in TRNC”
Indicating that there are pyramids at Mevlevi Village in TRNC, Prof. Dr. Semir Osmanagic stated that he wants to obtain permission from the necessary authorities to carry out archaeological excavations with volunteering experts and engineers. Underlining that no-one previously thought that Cyprus is of megalithic structure, Prof. Dr. Osmanagic indicated that megalithic areas are 5000 years old. “The world’s archaeological map shows great potential in terms of Cyprus’ inhabitation. Excavation must take place and pyramids will be revealed.” After Prof. Dr. Osmanagic’s interesting presentation he was handed a plaque of appreciation and the event ended after a cocktail.
