The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design is hosting an international art project titled “Unusual Message”. The project will be comprised of the work of approximately 70 academician artists and designers from 13 different countries.
10 everyday objects will be selected and sent to universities. Six artist/designer academicians will choose an object each and create their art.
The artists are expected to transform their objects using manipulation and striking ideas into fantastic stories with new surreal meaning
Work sent in by participants until the 30th of June 2018 will be collected in a catalog prepared by the Eastern Mediterranean University. The “Unusual Message” art project will be viewed all over the world as a result of consecutive exhibitions that will be prepared by participating universities from different continents in the 2018-2019 academic year.
The primary objective of the “Unusual Message” project coordinated by Prof. Martin R. Baeyens ve Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu is to bring together institutions and artists with different cultures, setting up a comprehensive art network which will create a foundation for future student-academician exchanges and joint design projects.
The countries participating in the “Unusual Message” art project are: Cyprus, China, Poland, Turkey, Iran, America, Russia, Mexico, Korea, Kosovo, Romania, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
