World Renowned Cypriot Academician in EMU Tourism Faculty

World renowned academician Prof. Dr. Levent Altınay from Oxford Brookes University commenced teaching masters and PhD courses in Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Tourism Faculty. Prof. Dr. Altınay will be teaching “Current Facts in Service Research” and “Current Research Subjects in Tourism Sector” courses during the 2021 – 2022 Academic Year Fall Semester. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Altınay will also advise students on their thesis research topics.

Prof. Dr. Altınay has been a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship in Oxford Brookes University, the Oxford School of Hospitality Management, Oxford Brookes Business School since 2009. Prof. Dr. Altınay is the Director of the Centre for International Tourism and Events Management Research (CITEM) since 2015 and also the Editor-in-Chief of the Service Industries Journal since 2017. Prof. Dr. Levent Altınay has many international academic publications.

Prof. Dr. Altınay is responsible for guiding his colleagues in the creation and implementation of the faculty strategy, organizing training and research workshops, leading postgraduate courses such as current research topics and research methods, and advising PhD students.

EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç made a statement regarding the topic and said that EMU Tourism Faculty was ranked 38th in the field of Tourism and Hotel Management in 2021 ShanghaiRanking, adding that they are now among the leading tourism faculties in the world. Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that with Dr. Levent Altınay’s experience and teaching skills, the students will be provided with a different vision and important contributions to their development will be made. Stating that other distinguished academicians of the world will continue to teach at EMU Tourism Faculty in the future, Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that this way they will gain momentum in the progress of the faculty.
