Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar and his committee visited Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Republic of Turkey Nicosia Embassy Education Counsellor Ekrem Toklucu, EMU vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Prof. Dr. Serhan Şensoy and Ankara University vice Rector for Research Prof. Dr. Hasan Serdar Öztürk, Dentistry Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Ender Yarsan, Director of Protocol Neriman Kantarcı and Rector Advisor Ümmet Artuç were present during the visit.
“Happy to Cooperate”
Speaking at the visit, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın presented information on EMU, including the history of the institution, EMU’s current activities, education programs and international accreditations. Underlining that EMU has always had good relations with the government agencies from the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated that EMU will be happy to cooperate with Ankara University which is one of the most important institutions of Turkey.

Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar also made a speech where he expressed their gladness for visiting the EMU and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Stating the fact that Ankara University is the biggest university in the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Ünüvar emphasized the importance of the cooperation to be made between the biggest university of Turkey and the biggest university of TRNC. Prof. Dr. Ünüvar said that EMU is a very important university both in terms of its quality of education and research activities.
Following the speeches, both parties exchanged views in regards to academic research and cooperation. Rectors presented souvenirs to each other at the end of the visit.
