Organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Sports Affairs Directorate, the international “Futsal Cup of Nation 2022” tournament has been completed with the final matches played at Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Center and the award ceremony. At the end of the matches, the TRNC Futsal team left the tournament as champions.
In the tournament where 24 different countries were represented, the semi-finals were played between Libya – Sudan and TRNC – Nigeria. In the final matches played the TRNC Futsal team won the match against Libya 2-1 on penalties, while Libya came second. As a result of the matches played between Nigeria and Sudan, Nigeria finished the tournament with a 6-1 as the third and Sudan fourth.
Award Ceremony Held
At the Award Ceremony held after the matches, awards were presented to the winning teams. The champion team was presented awards by EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu. EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu presented the second place awards whilst EMU Sports Affairs Directorate Personnel Osman Konnolu presented the third place awards. The fourth place awards were presented by EMU Sports Affairs Directorate Staff Aydın Kayol.
Also during the event, the Best Unity Award was presented to Libya whilst the Best Scorer award went to Ali Reza Zarrin. Pakistan received the Most Gentleman Team award and the Best Goalkeeper award went to Yousuf Aldharat. Finally, the Most Valuable Player award was presented to Berke Zorba.
