Operating under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Sports Affairs Directorate, Women's and Men's Futsal Teams became double champions at the University Futsal Championship organized by the Northern Cyprus University Sports Federation.
On Monday, 28 March, 2022, EMU Women's Futsal Team defeated Girne American University (GAU) with a score of 7-1, reaching the championship in the final matches played at Girne Ertuğrul Apakan Indoor Sports Hall, whilst EMU Men's Futsal Team defeated Near East University in the final match with a score of 5-2. EMU Women's and Men's Futsal Teams have been coached by EMU Sports Affairs Directorate Trainers Osman Konnolu and Beha Karabulutoğlu. Having demonstrated its superiority in indoor football after football, EMU closed the 2021-2022 season with a double championship in both men and women.

Commenting on the championships, EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu emphasized that EMU Sports Affairs Directorate Coaches, who took advantage of the pandemic process, formed good teams and went through a disciplined training process. Konnolu said, “Our trainers and athletes have been rewarded for their hard work. The achievements have made us very happy. I extend my congratulations to our coaches and athletes who contributed to the championships and wish them continued success.”
