Eastern Mediterranean University, Engineering Faculty, Industrial Engineering Department 2006 graduate Ziya Ediz Gürsan has become the director of Atlasjet Georgia. Formerly employed at another company as the Director of Revenue Management, Gürsan has recently undertaken his new post at the head office at Tbilisi, Georgia. Expressing his pleasure in his new appointment, Ziya Ediz Gürsan extended his gratitude to Eastern Mediterranean University Industrical Engineering Department for multicultural and high-quality education provided.
EMU Industrial Engineering Department chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Gökhan İzbırak stated that contrary to the common belief, Industrial Engineers and Business Engineers not only work at factories but also perform services at various branches of the service sector such as consultancy, transportation, energy, logistic, finance, banking, hospitals, brand management, software, tourism, education, telecommunications, marketing and human resources.
Providing successful students with the opportunity to obtain a double major diploma in the fields of Mechanical Engineering or Business, EMU Industrial Engineering Department has also gained the international accreditation of ABET. The department has successfully catered for the demand for qualified workforce in the fields of production and service since 1998. Graduates of the department may pursue postgraduate studies at world-renowed universities such as MIT and Cambridge.
