Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctoral Program ** (Ph.D., 3,5 - 5 Years)

The PhD Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, widely available in the United States, Europe and Türkiye, is a four-year English-medium program. It aims to train researchers capable of utilizing advanced scientific research methods in the laboratory, conducting independent studies, and making new scientific contributions. Graduates will be well-prepared to provide innovative and high-quality services in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and cosmetics industries, particularly in fields related to pharmaceutical sciences.

Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD program is a multidisciplinary doctoral program that consists 6 different modules in the field of pharmacy (Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Toxicology, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosis). Upon their enrolment to the program, doctoral students select one of these modules and complete five area elective courses (total of 15 credits) along with three additional electives of their choice (total of 9 credits). Once they pass the doctoral qualification exam, they can begin their dissertation research.

Admission Requirements

  • To have a degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy or to have completed a master’s degree in fields such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.
  • To obtain the minimum score in English Proficiency examinations: YÖKDİL: 66, IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL (PBT): 548, TOEFL (CBT): 211, TOEFL (IBT): 79, EMU English Proficiency Exam: 75. Candidates who fail to present any English Proficiency Certificate may take the proficiency exam carried out by EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School.

To meet the requirements determined by the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research.

Pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and herbal food supplement industries, hospital pharmacies and clinics, pharmaceutical research labs and centers, genetic research institutes, complementary therapy centers, universities, government agencies, pharmacies, pharmaceutical raw material synthesis and production facilities, and the pharmaceutical marketing sector provide diverse job opportunities across the entire spectrum, from drug manufacturing to its distribution to patients and healthcare professionals.
