Eastern Mediterranean University Employee’s Cooperative Ltd. (EMU-COOP) will contribute in the New Scholarship System launched on the 23rd of July, 2020 by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU).
“EMU-COOP Student Scholarship Contract” was signed between EMU and EMU-COOP on the 29th of September, 2020 at 10:30. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and EMU-COOP Board Chairman Hasan Kavaz signed the contract on behalf of EMU and EMU-COOP, respectively.

During his speech in signing session, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that successful students who experience financial distress are granted scholarships with the help of benefactor business people, institutions and organizations. By thanking EMU-COOP for their support to the EMU’s New Scholarship System, Prof. Dr. Hocanın, continued his speech by saying that EMU is a state university and it integrates with all the shareholders and community. Prof. Dr. Hocanın expressed his gratification by saying; “We are honored that EMU-COOP, one of our own, is to grant scholarships for 3 of our students. We are thankful for the support”.
By saying that EMU played a significant role in establishing of EMU-COOP, Executive Board Chairman Hasan Kavaz also stated that their first priority is to provide convenience for their own employees. Knowing that EMU cares for its students, EMU-COOP wanted to be part by the scholarship system in order to make contributions which students would benefit from. At the end of his speech, Kavaz thanked EMU and its administrative bodies for initiating such a meaningful project.
EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu and EMU-COOP General Secretary Hüseyin Tabur also attended the signing session.
