The jury of International Nurten Aksugür Best Concept Communication Student Competition, organized for the 4th time by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Architecture, Interior Architecture Department and sponsored by Aksugür family, gathered for evaluation. The jury consisting of Prof. Dr. Erdal Aksugür, Prof. Dr. Sezin Tanrıöver, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afet Çeliker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guita Farivarsadri and Dr. Ahmet Saymanlıer evaluated total of 53 projects and determined the owners of 3 awards and 2 jury special awards.
“The Interest in the Competition Increases Each Year”
According to the announced results; the winner of the competition is Arda Fethi Akgün from EMU followed respectively by Mihriban Demircan from Yaşar University and Galip Ömer Şeker from İstanbul Ayvansaray University. The jury granted Jury Special Awards to the projects of Gaye Latifoğlu from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Züleyha Sönmez from Karadeniz Technical University. Competition Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Guita Farivarsadri thanked everyone who have contributed to the organization during the difficult pandemic conditions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farivarsadri stated that the interest in the competition has showed an increase each year.
“Students can Freely Express Themselves”
EMU Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül also stated that the International Nurten Aksugür Best Concept Communication Student Competition, which was held for the 4th time this year, is an important competition in terms of creating a platform where students can express themselves freely, as well as encouraging successful students studying in interior architecture departments. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öngül also emphasized that as the EMU, they are very happy to have organized such an event.
