There have been a record number of applications for the 3rd International Nurten Aksugür Best Concept Communication Student Competition organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Architecture, Interior Architecture Department. Until the last application date of the 23rd of February 2018 a total of 120 applications were received. These applications were received from participants from 32 different universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Turkey and the USA.
The competition aims for Interior Architecture students to focus their attention on critical, creative and original thinking, to understand the cognitive dimensions of design, to communicate with the help of a range of individual presentation methods and to provide the motivation and support for them to share their ideas.
According to a statement from the EMU Interior Architecture Department the winners of the competition will be determined by a jury on the 2nd of March 2018 and announced on the competition website on the 9th of March 2018. Entries that the jury deems worthy for exhibition will be exhibited at the EMU Faculty of Architecture and online from the 5th to the 9th of March 2018. At an award ceremony the participant who finishes first will be awarded 3000 TL. The participant who finishes second will be awarded 2000 TL and the participant who finishes third will be awarded 1000 TL.
