Operating under the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, EMU Special Education Club held a talk on the occasion of 8 March International Women's Day. On Tuesday, 8 March 2021, at 14:00, the talk titled “Motherhood and Being a Parent of a Disabled Child” took place at the EMU Activity Hall under the moderation of EMU Education Faculty, Special Education Department Chair and Club Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selma Akalın, and with the participation of Serpil Genç and her daughter, EMU Education Faculty, Educational Sciences Department, Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program 2015-2016 Academic Year Spring Semester graduate İnci Genç.
Serpil Genç talked about the problems, experiences and memories her daughter İnci Genç has encountered since her childhood due to her visual impairment. The talk, which proceeded in the form of questions and answers, then ended with a kemençe recital by İnci Genç, who continued her studies at the conservatory and successfully graduated from this field as well. Serpil Genç and EMU graduate İnci Genç were presented with a Lefkara panel and flowers, both on the occasion of 8 March International Women's Day and for their participation in the talk.
