Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Dr. Fazıl Küçük Medicine Faculty academic staff of cardiovascular surgery and Dean of the Dentistry Faculty, Prof. Dr. Aydın Karakuzu, representing EMU, was part of a 90-person health aid sent to the capital city of Somalia, Mogadishu, by the Republic of Turkey, following a terror attack there, to assist and treat the wounded.
A cargo ambulance plane belonging to Turkey’ss Air Force escorted the health aid team to Mogadishu, who treated the wounded there and returned to Turkey with 15 severely wounded victims of the terror attack for further treatment. Prof. Dr. Karakuzu advised that he forwarded well wishes on behalf of EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and the Turkish Cypriots and that EMU has always continued and will continue to be the supporter of the oppressed and the victims with all the means at their disposal.
Somalian authorities extended their appreciation to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and the EMU family, for providing them aid during difficult times.
