Algebraic thinking, the importance of algebraic thinking in teaching mathematics; pre-algebraic period; relation of arithmetic-algebra; generalized arithmetic and functional thinking; basic concepts of algebra; different notations in algebra teaching; teaching variables, algebraic expressions, equations and equalities, linear equations, equalities and inequalities (using the appropriate teaching materials and strategies, etc.); student knowledge about these subjects (understanding and interpreting student's thoughts about concepts, to discover student difficulties and misconceptions); the relations of these subjects to daily life and other lessons.
