The EMUATHLON race organised by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Sports Affairs Directorate took the breath away of those watching. During the said race, athletes in teams of 8 were expected to pass 22 endurance barriers involving jumping, climbing, hurdles, mud-crawling, step-climbing and pool running within the shortest duration possible.
At the third annual EMUATHLON race, each team consisted of 4 males and 4 females. The competition also required each team to have a member over 40 years of age. A total of 25 teams and 200 athletes participated in this years’ race. The competition was monitored by referees deployed by EMU Sports Affairs Directorate, who also helped direct competitors to the finish line.
Competing in front of a large croud, both audience members and athletes had a day to remember. A range of prizes were awarded to the top four teams after the race that was started by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam.
