A cooperation protocol has been signed between Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Atatürk Teacher Academy (ATA). EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and ATA President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Özçınar signed the protocol at the EMU Rector's Office on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 14.30. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation ptotocol. EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk, ATA Executive Board Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Perkan Zeki, EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs and ATA Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, ATA Board Member Ali Yönel and EMU Board of Trustees Member Ersun Kutup were also present at the said ceremony.
With the said protocol, it is aimed to develop academic, scientific and cultural cooperation between EMU and TRNC Ministry of National Education and Culture and Atatürk Teacher Academy and to ensure joint production and sharing in these fields.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr.Aykut Hocanın stated that the cooperation between the two institutions has always been close and will continue. Expressing that the cooperation between Eastern Mediterranean University and Atatürk Teacher Academy will continue to increase within the framework of the said protocol, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that they are always ready to share resources in scientific, cultural and academic fields.
Speaking after Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu, wished that the protocol will be beneficial for both institutions and emphasized that they will stand by every step taken in the name of education. Minister Amcaoğlu also added the cooperation between Eastern Mediterranean University and Atatürk Teacher Academy, one of the distinguished educational institutions of the TRNC, is a good example of solidarity for all educational institutions and stated that each signature put down in the name of education will increase the quality of education.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, Atatürk Teacher Academy President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Özçınar stated that they are very happy to be in cooperation with EMU and emphasized that they have been working with EMU for many years. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Özçınar also underlined that the cooperation built on sharing scientific, cultural and human resources will continue with the said protocol.
