Within the scope of the New Scholarship System initiated by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) on 23 July 2020, charitable persons, institutions and organizations, under the title of ‘Scholarship Provider’, continue to offer scholarships to successful students or students with financial difficulties who have gained the right to study at the university. Another institution supporting EMU's New Scholarship System is Cyprus EVKAF Foundation.
A Student Scholarship Agreement was signed between EMU and Cyprus EVKAF Foundation on Monday, 17 August 2020, at 3:30 p.m. at Aykut Hocanın's office. Among those present at the signing ceremony were EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, EVKAF Foundation General Director Prof. Dr. İbrahim F. Benter, EMU Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Aktuğlu, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, and Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhan Şensoy.
15 Students to Receive Scholarships
In scope of the agreement, the EVKAF Foundation provided 15 students with financial difficulties with full scholarships for four years. Speaking at the Signing Ceremony EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that with the scholarship system developed by EMU, students who are successful and have financial difficulties are supported by charitable business people, institutions and organizations. Rector of EMU went on to state "I thank EVKAF Foundation for this charitable and virtuous behavior." General Director of the EVKAF Foundation Prof. Dr. İbrahim F. Benter said, “EMU's New Scholarship System a suitable program for our foundation’s tradition. We watch with commendation. As the Cyprus EVKAF Foundation Administration, we will give every support we can ”.
After the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Benter presented the Rector of EMU a board and map reflecting the work of the Foundation. Within the scope of EMU's New Scholarship System, new Student Scholarship Agreements will continue to be settled with many institutions and organizations in the coming days.
