Commencing this year’s activities on 3 October 2015, Eastern Mediterranean University Continuing Education Center (EMU-CEC) Ada Işığı Children’s Choir is inviting applications from new chorists between the age of 7 and 13.
Established in 2012 as a unit formed under Eastern Mediterranean University, Ada Işığı Children’s Choir is the first of its kind. The said choir received the appreciation of music lovers at the Children’s Choir Festival organised in Afyon in 2014.
The same choir also delivered a concert at Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall in February, 2015. The opening concert at the TRNC International Chorus Festival was also delivered by Ada Işığı Children’s Choir, which also took part in a Social Responsibility Project involving ‘Kemal Saraçoğlu Children with Leukemia Foundation’ in 2015.
Among the said choir’s prospective projects which will take place in 2016 are a joint concert with Nicosia Municipality Orchestra, a joint concert and workshop with Turkish Cypriot opera singer Soprano Laden İnce and participation in local and international chorus festivals.
Interested children aged between 7 and 13 may register for EMU-CEC Ada Işığı Children’s Choir at 630 2471. As before, the conductor of the said choir will be Erkan Dağlı. Pianists Özkan Boyacıoğlu and Hasan Korkmazel and chorus assistants Özşen Anış Mehmetalioğulları and İlmiye Karaşahin will be taking part in the activities of the chorus.
