Former assistant and student of the late academic staff member Wilbert Skip Norman, EMU Faculty of Communication and Media Studies academic staff member Mert Yusuf Özlük and his students gave soul to Norman through photos taken as part of “Advanced Photography” course.
In this respect, a photography exhibition was launched at the European Mediterranean Art Association in Nicosia. The said exhibition was officially launched by EMU Communication and Media Studies Faculty academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Yetin Arslan and Kemal Saraçoğlu Children with Leukemia Foundation Coordinator Övgü İnce. EMU academic staff member Mert Yusuf Özlük highlighted the importance of the said exhibition, which has been launched in memory of late academic staff member and photography artist Wilbert Skip Norman, who perished due to cancer on 18 March in 2015. Adding that he has been trying to equip his students with skills and information he gained from Norman, Özlük put forth that all pieces of photography exhibited in the said exhibition are indeed the products of Norman’s efforts. Özlük added that the photos displayed in the exhibition have been developed in the studio named after Skip Norman. Despite the fact that the students taking the course did not have the chance to get to know Skip Norman, they wanted to support the fight against cancer.
