Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Tourism Faculty, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts program Senior Instructor Kurtuluş Özbaşar and Expert Pastry Chef Pınar Barut represented EMU by acting as jury members at the Anatolian Salon Culinary Competitions 2019
Chef Kurtuluş Özbaşar and Expert Pastry Chef Pınar Barut were jury members at the 17th Be My Dealership Franchising and Branded Expo which took place in İstanbul. The duo were alongside head jury Chefs and Gastronomy Association President / World Master Chef Society Turkey President Fikret Özdemir.
Relaying his opinion on the competition EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç thanked Senior Instructor Kurtuluş Özbaşar and Expert Pastry Chef Pınar Barut for representing EMU and the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts by being jury members at the competition that brought together thousands of people including national and international chefs, foreign jury members, prospective gastronomy students from vocational high schools and universities, academicians, gourmets, food writers, professional educators and bloggers.
The Tourism Faculty is going to Croatia for the European Tourism Schools Competition
Prof. Dr. Kılıç went on to indicate that they will be participating in a gastronomy competition taking place between the 11th and 16th of November 2019 in Croatia. In addition, Prof. Dr. Kılıç emphasized that Senior Instructor Kurtuluş Özbaşar will be acting as a jury member which will contribute to the promotion of EMU and the Tourism Faculty in the international arena. Prof. Dr. Kılıç concluded by stating that they value such organizations because they are important for the development of students, underlining that they will continue to operate within EMU’s goal of internationalization.
