Eastern Mediterranean University Law Faculty 2001 year graduate, member of the Turkish Parliament from Justice and Development Party (AKP) from İstanbul and Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission member Bülent Turan will be delivering a seminar organised by EMU Business and Economics Faculty on 29 April 2014.

Taking place under the moderatorship of EMU Business and Economics Faculty, Political Science and International Relations Department chair Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, MP Turan will be talking about, “Latest Political Developments in Turkey.

Who is Bülent Turan?

Bülent Turan was born in Çanakkale on 17 January 1975. After completing his undergraduate studies in Eastern Mediterranean University Law Faculty, Turan pursued his postgraduate studies in Çanakkale 18 March University Social Sciences Instute, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations Department.

Turan founded his own law firm called “Turan Law Bureau” and also served as a member of the executive board and inspection board of the “Lawyers’ Association”. He worked in various non- governmental organisations. Then, he served as the assistant chair in AK Party İstanbul District Youth Branches and then in AK Party İstanbul Organisational District Branch.

Following the elections held on 12 June 2011, he started to serve in the Turkish Parliament as a member. He has been serving as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission and AK Party Group Executive Board as well as AK Party Deputy General Secretary.  

Turan also published a book entitled “Bir Mola" compiled of photos taken in Turkey and various other places. Turan is married and has two children.
