Eastern Mediterranean University, Communication Faculty, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Postgraduate Program graduate Farrukh Safarzade received the first prize in a design contest organised by Tcell, one of the mobile operators of Tajikistan.
Artists and designers throughout Tajikistan took part in the contest which called for original designs of stickers to be used in ‘Chi Gap’, a recent mobile application of Tcell.
The most important criteria in the contest was the reflection of Tajik culture in the stickers. Works of art produced by participating contestants were shared at the official facebook account of Tcell.
Winner of the contest EMU Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Department Master’s Program graduate Farrukh Safarzade stated that while designing the sticker set, he combined Tajik culture and characters with the colors representing Tcell mobile operator. Safarzade also added that studying in EMU as well as his instructors’ constructive feedback and recommendations posed positive contributions on his career. Safarzade also stated that without EMU’s support and high-quality education, he wouldn’t be able to become the winner of the said contest.
