Within the framework of ‘International Career Week’, Eastern Mediterranean University hosted a successful graduate. Having graduated from EMU Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department in 2003, Ruzin Kılıç Demirel worked at RB Dereli Yachting and Rahmi Mustafa Koç (RMK) Marine Shipyard as interior architect for design and application in the yacht department and later established her own design company entitled Ruzin Kılıç Demirel.
During a meeting with EMU Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department Chair Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı and academic staff member at the same department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu Tevfikler Çavuşoğlu, Ruzin Kılıç Demirel provided information about her studies, seminars and career. Stating that her interest area is “Interior Architecture in Mega – Super Yachts”, Demirel added that she had the opportunity to work at important shipyards for 7 years, which gave her valuable experience in her chosen field.
Demirel stated that in European countries, the interior design of mega – super yachts are carried our by the 4th generation but in Turkey, this profession is still at its childhood stage. Expressing her happiness in visiting EMU after long years, Demirel expressed her fascination with the enlarged campus of EMU as well as its unique facilities.
EMU Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department chair Prof. Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı expressed her happiness and pride in observing successful achievements of their graduates. EMU Interior Architecture Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu Tevfikler Çavuşoğlu put forth that the profession of interior architecture has an array of design opportunities in different areas of practice.
