Eastern Mediterranean University, Arts and Sciences Faculty, Physics Department was represented at the Regional Conference on Theoretical Physics by academic staff members Prof. Dr. Özay Gürtuğ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. S. Habib Mazharimousavi.
Organised by Iranian Basic Sciences Research Institute in Tehran, the said conference hosted discussions on field theories, astrophysics, cosmology and string theory. Prof. Dr. Gürtuğ, who attended the conference as an invited speaker, presented information on the singularity and quantum qualities of Rotating Black Holes envisaged in Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Assoc. Prof. Dr. S. Habib Mazharimousavi’s presentation included information on wormholes theory and shortcuts to distant universes.
Having attracted around 70 prominent scientists, the conference hosted 17 presentations on dark matter, dark energy, models of universe and string theory.
