Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Oztoprak inspected the 6 buildings that are currently under construction within the campus. In order to accommodate the growing student size at EMU as well as to increase student satisfaction, EMU’s Education building is being revamped along with three new dormitory buildings as well as a new additional classrooms being added to the Faculty of Health Sciences building, Central Lecture Hall and Faculty of Law building. Prof. Dr. Oztoprak has stated that all the buildings will be in operation in the 2014-2015 academic year.
Oztoprak also stated the improvements made to the education building, which included earthquake resistance among many others.
He went on to visit the Faculty of Health Sciences building as well as the three new dormitories that were under construction. He stated how rent prices outside of the campus are increasing and how they are trying to accommodate all students within the university campus. The new campuses will be operational in the next academic year.
