The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector's Office presented a plaque of appreciation to famous producer Emre Oskay, who is also among the academic staff of EMU Faculty of Communication, Cinema and Television Department, for inviting a professional team from the Republic of Turkey to the island for the shooting of the short film titled “The Spirit of Othello”, hence for providing a unique experience for the students of the aforesaid department. The presentation ceremony took place at EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu 's office.

In addition to Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu, notable names who attended the ceremony were Dean of EMU Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysu Arsoy and Assist. Prof. Dr. Yetin Arslan, Chair of Cinema and Television Department Prof. Dr. Bahire Efe Özad, Director of Graduate Communications and Career Research Office Derviş Ekşici, Director of Public Relations and Media Burcu Sultan Betin and Research Assistant Ümit Akdeniz. The plaque of appreciation was presented to Emre Oskay by Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu. At the same time, Emre Oskay, who graduated from EMU Faculty of Communication during the 2010-2011 Academic Year Fall Semester, was presented with the uniform of ‘Mağusa Türk Gücü’ football team by Graduate Communications and Career Research Director Derviş Ekşici.
Speaking at the ceremony, EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu thanked Emre Oskay for his contributions to the students of EMU Faculty of Communication and his efforts to promote EMU at national and international film festivals.
