A collaboration protocol has been signed between the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Rüstem Bookshop. The protocol between the two successful institutions was signed at 11:00 on Monday, the 15th of July 2019. The signature ceremony took place in the office of EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam who signed the protocol along with Rüstem Bookshop owner Ali Besim Rüstem. EMU Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs / Center for Cyprus Studies Director Prof. Dr. Naciye Doratlı, EMU Center for Cyprus Studies Visual Arts Project Coordinator Zehra Şonya and Rüstem Bookshop Culture and Art Consultant Halil Duranay were also present at the ceremony.
What Does the Protocol Entail?
The protocol signed by EMU and Rüstem Bookshop aims to promote academic, cultural and artistic activity between the institutions. Together the institutions will develop research projects, later turning them into books that will be released as joint publications. With the permission of artists, pieces of art found in EMU’s collection can be subcategorized into different themes and genres before being displayed in the Rüstem Bookshop gallery area. In addition, Rüstem Bookshop Personal Archeological Museum will be supported academically by EMU and exhibitions can be hold at the university.
