Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department has successfully become the only City & Guilds approved center within the TRNC, which also holds the accreditation protocol of the same authority.
After a long period of inspection and evaluation, EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department has become an approved center in the field of Culinary Arts. In this respect, Faculty of Tourism’s relevant programs have been harmonised with the programs of City & Guilds, giving the prospective graduates of the same department the opportunity to receive the same certificate issued by City & Guilds. Tourism Faculty Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that academic staff members and expert chefs delivering food production courses are also the graduates of City & Guilds.
Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that students of EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department may obtain City and Guilds’ internationally recognised prestigious certificate at L2 Certificate if they pass the exams offered by City & Guilds. Prof. Dr. Kılıç put forth that through the obtainment of the said certificate, graduates of their faculty will pursue success in their prospective careers at the international arena. Prof. Dr. Kılıç finally stated that the said program may also be offered to the tourism sector as well as the community and anyone wishing to develop themselves in the field may attend City & Guilds program to be offered by EMU Faculty of Tourism.
