Eastern Mediterranean University, Engineering Faculty, Industrial Engineering Department 2014 graduate Ömer Bitmiş paid a visit of courtesy to Vice Rector for Promotion and former Engineering Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca.
Following his graduation from EMU Industrial Engineering Department, Bitmiş started working at Swedish firm Securitas in Turkey as the Integrated Security Solutions Business Development Expert. Highlighting the important role of the education he received in EMU on his career, Bitmiş added that he undertook various responsibilities such as the chairmanship of Industrial Engineering Club and participation in various field practices of Cyprus Chamber of Industry during his studies in EMU. During his visit, Bitmiş thanked Prof. Dr. Amca for his support during his studies at EMU Engineering Faculty. Expressing their pride in EMU’s graduates’ succesful achievements, Prof. Dr. Amca expressed EMU’s willingness in supporting the students of EMU.
Bitmiş stressed the importance EMU gives to students’ social involvement as well as their academic success. Bitmiş stated that EMU’s graduates make a difference with their self-confidence and unique skills. Bitmiş also put forth that the education he received in EMU brought him notable advantages during his job interview as ABET accreditation of EMU Engineering Faculty as well as high quality studies in English helped him stand out of the crowd during the recruitment process. Bitmiş also stressed the importance of the internship practice EMU provides in converting theory into practice.
Bitmiş also expressed his satisfaction with EMU’s prominent academic staff, student-centered education and solution-based student treatment. Finally, Bitmiş stated that he still feels a part of the EMU family, thanks to the warm environment provided by the university.
