Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Architecture Faculty, Interior Architecture Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül was elected as a member of the Communication Coordination Board (İBBT-İK) of the Heads of Interior Architecture Departments of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Universities.
Along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öngül being a board member from TRNC, other members consist of a head of department from Fine Arts, Design and Architecture Faculties of state and foundation universities in Turkey, a department head from the host university, previous and next hosts of the meeting and, a representative of Chamber of Interior Architectures of Turkey.
The Communication Coordination Board, which was decided to be formed at the 16th Department Heads Meeting hosted by Başkent University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, aims to strengthen the communication and coordination of the Heads of Interior Architecture Departments.
In her statement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Öngül stated that this commission will work intensively to advance interior architecture education and, that they will be in constant communication with the council of deans. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öngül also expressed that she is proud to have been selected for the said position.
