Three international students who came to our country within the scope of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) International Summer School organized by EMU Vice Rector’s Office for International Affairs and Promotion paid a visit to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. Avichai Ozur Bass from Princeton University and Nick Anderson and Kinsey Erickson from Northwestern University, who came to EMU to participate in a two-month intensive course, expressed their happiness in spending the summer term at EMU and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
During the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Osam provided extensive information about EMU and highlighted the international qualities of the university through stating that around 20 thousand students from 106 countries benefit from high quality study opportunities in EMU. Putting forth that EMU offers courses in different fields to hundreds of foreign students every year within the scope of EMU International Summer School, Prof. Dr. Osam added that EMU also contributes to the promotion of the TRNC. Prof. Dr. Osam advised the students to have a joyful summer term in EMU and to leave the island with a good command of Turkish.
EMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cem Tanova and Prof. Dr. Özgür Eren, Rector’s Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Arif Akkeleş and International Affairs and Promotion Coordinator Ozan İnamlık were also present at the visit. The said students will receive Turkish language courses from EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School instructors. Also, during their stay, the students will participate in numerous social and cultural activities giving them the opportunity to obtain detailed information about EMU and the TRNC.
