Prof. Dr. Cem Tanova, who has been appointed as the director of the Institute for Graduate Studies and Research, paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and provided information about the Institute’s vision and targets during the 2015-2016 Academic Year.
The Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Continues to Grow:
Acting Director of EMU Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Tanova stated the fundamental aim of the Institute as the provision of relevant resources and means for academic staff, research assistants and postgraduate students in conducting high quality research. Prof. Dr. Tanova also highlighted the importance of maintaining the quality standards in education and added that since its establishment, EMU has always been a leading power in research and postgraduate education with its well-established institutional structure.
Adding that all postgraduate programs in faculties and schools undergo systematic revision in line with the latest trends, Prof. Dr. Tanova also put forth that new programs are also developed in accordance with academic disciplines and demands of professionals functioning in these disciplines. Prof. Dr. Tanova stated that EMU offers a wide spectrum of postgraduate study opportunities in an array of disciplines including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and arts. Prof. Dr. Tanova put forth that each postgraduate student is assigned an academic advisor and carries out research and their studies in line with their academic and professional targets.
