The project entitled “All Humans Hand in Hand” which took place under the coordinatorship of Eastern Mediterranean University Community Involvement Center Executive Board member Dr. Nazenin Ruso and through active participation of Community Volunteers, Community Services Club and students of Tourism Hospitality Management School, who wore clothes representing different professions took place at EMU Tourism Faculty, Health Sciences Faculty and English Preparatory School.
During the charity event Nigerian students played the saxophone and guitar while other students exhibited their products through stands. During the event which aimed to raise funds for SOS Children’s Village and Famagusta Special Education Center, a total of 450 TL was collected for SOS Children’s Village and 550 TL for Famagusta Special Education Center. The event which was supported by a considerable number of EMU students, both Turkish and international, also provided a nice atmosphere for those who enjoy listening to music. Coordinator of the event, Dr. Ruso stated that they annually arrange organisations as such to raise funds catering for the needs of SOS Children’s Village and similar organisations.
At the end of the event, EMU Tourism Faculty Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç put forth that the faculty sees students as part of the education and that involving students in community involvement projects not only contributes to the personal development of the students but also provides a firm support for social organisations within the community.
