Kocaeli Health and Technology University (KOSTU) Rector and the Founding Chairperson of the Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye (YÖKAK) Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç on Tuesday, 24 September, 2024 at 02:30 p.m. Present during the said visit was EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe.
During the visit, the two universities exchanged ideas on education, research, and collaboration. Prof. Dr. Elmas expressed his contentment on being at EMU, highlighting that they closely monitor EMU’s academic successes. Prof. Dr. Elmas also shared detailed information about KOSTU, outlining the university’s vision, mission, and activities. Furthermore, the visit featured discussions on the use of artificial intelligence in universities, with a strong emphasis on quality in higher education.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Kılıç emphasized the achievements of EMU in scientific and academic endeavors, noting that the university’s educational quality has been acknowledged by multiple international ranking bodies. The visit also explored possible future collaborations between the two universities, highlighting the significance of academic and scientific partnership. At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Kılıç presented Prof. Dr. Elmas a traditional Cypriot Lefkara lace panel.
