Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) has completed the preparations for the 2018-2019 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Week. During the Graduation Ceremonies, over 2100 graduates of associate and undergraduate programs, and more than 450 graduates of master’s and doctoral programs will receive their diplomas and step into the next stage of their lives. Consistently having an increasing number of graduates, EMU will soon boast an elite group of alumni consisting of 60 thousand graduates after the 2018-2019 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduations.
Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony taking place on the 1st of July
The 2018-2019 Academic Year Spring Semester Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony will be taking place on Monday, the 1st of July 2019 at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Centre. The ceremony set to commence at 15:00 will be attended by postgraduate students, their families, members of the EMU senate and academicians
Reception for Graduates and Parents
As part of the 2018-2019 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Week, a Graduation Reception aimed towards EMU graduates and their parents will be held poolside, outside of the Rector’s Office. The reception taking place on Monday, the 1st of July 2019 will commence at 19:00 and will feature a concert from the music group Bossa Nova Jazz.
Graduation for Associate and Undergraduate program students on the 2nd of July
The Graduation Ceremony where approximately 2100 associate and undergraduate program students will be presented their diplomas will be taking place on Tuesday, the 2nd of July 2019. The ceremony taking place at the EMU Yasin Düşüner Stadium will commence at 19:00. During the ceremony which will commence with a moment of silence followed by the national anthem, student speeches will be delivered on behalf of graduates. A symbolic tree planting ceremony will also be taking place. After EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam’s opening address and protocol speeches top scoring faculty and department graduates will be presented their diplomas and awards by the protocol. The EMU Graduation Ceremony is going to be attended by TRNC President Mustafa Akıncı and government representatives.
Performance by Famous Artist Mehmet Erdem
After the students from the associate and undergraduate programs receive their diplomas, the ceremony will end with the throwing of the graduation caps into air and a concert by popular Turkish singer Mehmet Erdem who will be performing his biggest hits for EMU graduates.
