Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) hosted the renowned journalist, lawyer and academician Güneri Civalıoğlu within the scope of the 24th Spring Festival. Civaoğlu’s talk took place on the 17th of May, 2019 Friday at 17:00 in Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall. Civaoğlu stated his wish to make a talk about the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the occasion of the 100th year anniversary of Atatürk reaching Samsun on the 19th of May in 1919. Civaoğlu commenced the talk with a moment of silence in memory of Atatürk.
Numerous Documents were shared with the Audience
Civaoğlu shared information containing Atatürk’s individual dialogues through numerous documents about Atatürk that he has collected within the years. Civaoğlu touched on interesting anecdotes by sharing the books that Atatürk read and the events that happened during the past. The famous journalist, who was acting as the leader of the team which was responsible for morning news in TRT channel, worked in different positions for many different institutions and channels including Show TV General Directorate, Tercüman Newspaper Chief-Editorship, Güneş Journal Partnership and Chief-Editorship, Sabah Newspaper Columnist, Milliyet Journal Editorship as well as programs for different media channels like Channel D, Fox TV and CNN Turkey.
