Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors’ Association (KTEMB) signed a collaboration protocol on Monday, 1 November 2021 at 10:00. The protocol was signed by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and KTEMB President Bora Karaçam. EMU vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel and KTEMB authorities were present during the signing session.
Within the scope of the signed protocol, EMU and KTEMB aims to create internship opportunities and job opportunities for students in the member companies of the association, to improve the knowledge and skills of students in line with the needs of the market, to organize joint educational activities and social events on the subjects that the market needs, and to ensure the parallelism of the sector and educational institutions in terms of knowledge and experience.
Prof. Dr. Hocanın delivered a speech during the signing session and touched on the importance of collaboration protocols that are signed with trade associations and non-governmental organizations adding that such kind of collaborations hold a vital role for students in terms of internship opportunities and working with competent engineers. Hoping that the collaboration protocol signed between EMU and KTEMB will be beneficial for the country in general and for both institutions in particular, Prof. Dr. Hocanın wished the continuation of the cooperation in future.
Stating that they are extremely grateful to be within a collaboration with EMU, Bora Karaçam said that joint studies of EMU and KTEMB are to increasingly continue within the scope of the signed protocol. Emphasizing that the more the students are intertwined with the sector, the more successful they will be, Karaçam added that he believes that the cooperation between education and the sector will always provide maximum profit and revenue. During the protocol ceremony, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hocanın presented a Lefkara panel, unique to Cyprus, as a gift to the President of the KTEMB, Karaçam.
