EMU Academic Staff Member Receives an Invitation to Benetton’s International Art Project

Eastern Mediterranean University Communication Faculty, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu received an invitation from Benetton Foundation’s Curator and Cyprus Collection Coordinator Nicolas Vamvouklis to participate in world-famous Italian brand Benetton’s “Imago Mundi Project”. Vamvouklis presented the official invitation letter from Luciano Benetton to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çavuşoğlu.

Imago Mundi is the collection of works commissioned and collected by Luciano Benetton on his travels around the world, involving, on a voluntary and non-profit basis, established and emerging artists from many different countries.

The increasingly global Imago Mundi project involves 150 collections reflecting the national art of many countries and over 23,000 artists including  Laurie Anderson, Christo, Georges Adeagbo, Zaha Hadid, Hermann Nitsch, Orlan, Vito Acconci, Kiki Smith, Helmut Lang and  Barkley L. Hendricks.

Cyprus Collection Exhibition in May

In this respect, EMU Communication Faculty, Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu, will be supporting Luciano Benetton, who wants to enrich Imago Mundi Project with high quality artwork from Cyprus. Imago Mundi Project’s Cyprus Collection Exhibition, which will also feature Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çavuşoğlu’s artwork, will take place in Trieste, Italy in May 2018.
